Hello, Lovelies!
I realize that I have been radio silent for basically the past YEAR! And I apologize. Yes, I am still a LipSense/SeneGence Distributor, but I took a bit of a hiatus. So what have I been up to, you might be wondering? Well, as you know back in May of last year (2017) I had major shoulder surgery at the same time that I took the full-time (yet unpaid) position of Communication Vice President of the Junior League of Oklahoma City last June. It is probably one of the hardest positions on the Board (every single form of communication has to be reviewed and approved by the VP, which is daunting with 1200+ members) but it was such a wonderful and rewarding experience that I will be forever grateful for that opportunity. The Junior League is truly one of the best women’s organizations. It has taught me so much about being a leader in both the business world and the local OKC community. It’s International, so check out your local chapter to see how you can become involved!
Yes, I got sidetracked…back to my story! So come June 1, 2018, my term was over and I could finally focus on the launch of my newest endeavor (with my bestie and business partner) Couture Collective, which is an online women’s clothing store. We have actually been working on this business for the past year, but with both of us sitting on the Board of JLOC and each with two young kiddos at home, it just wasn’t feasible until this Fall to see it finally come to fruition. We officially launched September 12th! You all have been amazing supporting me with LipSense, and I would love your additional support with this business as well! You absolutely do not have to make any purchases (although please feel free to do so because we have super cute stuff 🙂 ), but as we are primarily online (yes, we will be hosting pop-up shops, but let’s call it 90/10) you could support us tremendously by liking us on Facebook here, and following us on Instagram, here and spreading the word about Couture Collective. Also, my fellow lipstick loving ladies, we have some pretty darn cute accessories you will ADORE! I’ll post pics and links below.
I want to tell you a little bit more about CC, and then I will update you on the BRAND-SPANKING NEW SeneGence products!!!!! (I’m literally jumping up and down, that’s why the overload of exclamation points!) But I’ll do that in another post. I have to juggle some mom thangs, so it will likely be this afternoon—But stay tuned!
Cortney and I met while volunteering with the League (as I have previously mentioned) when we were placed together as Co-Community Coordinators. We had not met before, but we shared an instant connection! We also discovered that we make the perfect team, and just have the best time working together! It never feels like “work”. We also have a heart for our community and those less fortunate, so we wanted to create a business that would give back to those in need.
Between our love of fashion, desire to have fun and our focus on philanthropy – Couture Collective was born! Each month we will select a non-profit in Oklahoma and donate a percentage of all proceeds from that month exclusively to that charity/nonprofit. This month we have selected the Junior League of Oklahoma City, naturally; November will be Pet Angels Rescue of Oklahoma, and just in time to spread some Holiday Cheer to the homeless children of OKC, December’s nonprofit will be Positive Tomorrows.
